'My partner has decided to be celibate, a year into the relationship'- Zinhle KZN listener

Intimacy is said to be one of the most important aspects to any romantic relationship and not just physical intimacy. There are different forms of intimacy; you have emotional intimacy, spiritual intimacy and yes physical intimacy. In this weeks edition of #TheFixer with Stacey and JSbu the latter form of intimacy is the focus. The team received the following voice note from a female listener whose partner has decided to become celibate one year into their relationship.
This listener who would like to remain anonymous, stresses that her partner becoming celibate is not the bone of contention for her but rather the fact that he did not think to consult her in his decision that affects the both of them. Her partner made the decision based on a spiritual journey that he is embarking on.

Stacey and JSbu both found the actions of the boyfriend selfish, as intimacy is an essential component of a romantic relationship. His decision can also drive anonymous to feeling unloved and unwanted; this should have been a joint decision.
