Championed by Build One South Africa (BOSA) alongside PayMeFairly, the bill seeks to ban the use of salary history in recruitment, enforce pay transparency in job ads, and protect workers’ rights to openly discuss earnings. BOSA says the move marks a decisive shift toward a more transparent and equitable labour market, particularly for young people and historically disadvantaged groups still facing pay gaps.
